ABOUT THE ART SHOW
The Crab Fest Art Show was started in 2000 by the Kodiak artist collective known as Dancing Salmon Artists. Over the years the effort developed into the premiere spring show where Kodiak artists could debut and share new work. Traditionally held in the Kodiak Inn Harbor Room over the Memorial Day weekend, the art show has typically included an opening reception where patrons can meet the artists and learn more about their artistic practice.
In 2019 The Frame Shop and Kodiak Arts Council assumed organizing responsibilities for the Crab Fest Art Show.
In 2020 the Crab Festival Art Show was entirely virtual and hosted online at www.kodiakartshow.org. In 2021, the show returned in person with a continuing companion virtual exhibit in order to reach a broad audience and facilitate sales of artwork to the public.
