Madeline Wright

Hello, my name is Madeline Wright. I’m nineteen, and I was raised in Kodiak. My dream has always been to be an artist, and to spread a message of love and peace to my community. Growing up in Alaska, I was taught that this is the last frontier, a land wealthy in natural beauty, culture, and opportunity. I was taught that my country is a melting pot for those vivid, diverse in expression, freedom and liberty bound through blood and chaos into love. The ultimate dream of a place for the exiled, the homeless, the ‘tempest-tost’ to find safe harbor. I suppose that with my art I hope to make people think; and hopefully, have more compassion for each other instead of division. People can be jerks sometimes, but most of us are just trying to make our dream happen. In summary, I make what I make to make me happy, but hopefully it might make someone else happy too. I hope to make the world a better place, even if just a little. Or at the very least, show people how much beauty and passion there is to see all around us.
