Marina Thomas

I am a Kodiak-born artist who work is shaped by my lifelong connection to the island and its fishing community. I grew up commercial fishing halibut and Dungeness crab on my family’s boat and later worked at a remote salmon hatchery on Afognak Island, surrounded by wildlife and the natural environment. My art reflects the people, places and experiences I have encountered over the years, drawing from both personal memory and observation.
