My first painting to be submitted is titled "Fishers of Men" it references a painting "My Pilot" by Warner Sallman, which I deem the most popular painting amongst commercial fishermen and mariners. My version is updating an eighty year old image by using different subjects - Apostles Andrew and Peter. I also use different media, including gold and silver leaf. It is very traditional and meant to be a crowd pleaser.
The second painting, is titled "portrait of Angus". It is in the manner of Klimt with lots of silver leaf. It is of a young man gazing away. Nothing nude or offensive.
