Creating enamel pieces in my studio with my little hand held torch is such a happy place for me. I enjoy watching the powdered glass melt and fuse to the copper and waiting to see how the final colors turn out as the piece cools. Many of the colors are temperamental to specific heat, or react differently with opaque or transparent layers. While I make the earring in pairs, each one is original. I enjoy seeing my little pieces of art on earlobes of friends and strangers around town, or far away. I don't write down my patterns, but instead make a pattern on several sets until a new idea comes to me. This earring set uses separation enamel to create an “oil on water” look. They are my favorites so far!
