Colette Bennett
Colette is a self-taught acrylic artist with a passion for painting nature-scapes and animals. Recently, she's dabbled in multimedia projects and many of her latest works include collage and pastel elements. Colette's art features a mysterious and magical theme where the ecosystem and it's inhabitants take on a certain surrealness; many of the characters being charismatic in their manifestation of balance and peace. Her pieces aim to show how one can become one with their natural surroundings when silence and solitude is embraced. Colette is new to Kodiak this summer, interning for the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge's Salmon Camp program, but with every hike outside she's gathering enough natural inspiration to power some fantastic creations. Colette attends the University of British Columbia studying Forest Sciences and has plans to become a Research Ecologist in Alaska.
